It's a cylinder tested to TS007 against snapping, bumping and drilling. If your door still has its original builder-spec cylinder, upgrading is the most worthwhile security change you can make.

Can you improve security without new doors?

Yes, substantially. Cylinder, keeps, hinge bolts and laminated glass together close nearly every common forced-entry route on an otherwise sound door.

Are external glazing beads a real risk?

On older windows without security clips, yes — the bead can be removed and the unit lifted out. Modern units are internally beaded or clipped so it can't be done from outside.
